i know this is short, but....

Today I feel happy.

feelin good.

Have you ever had someone just tell you 'you're so funny!' or 'oh, i love you!' for no reason at all? I had that happen, and it really was able to brighten my day. Compliments from strangers are nice, hearing 'I love you' from a loved one is nice, too. But hearing something like that from a pretty close acquaintance is just really able to brighten your day. Well, mine at least. I know I have the insecurity where although people act like they like me, I fear they talk about me behind my back. Or don't think I'm funny. And hearing it from someone just makes me feel so great about myself, and is really able to solidify my confidence in who I am. So today, or tomorrow, or whenever you get a chance, compliment an acquaintance. Make their day, make them feel good.

YAY! 

Our flights are officially booked to New York City and San Francisco! I'm so darn excited! We leave in 76 days, according to the countdown on my phone! AH! I love travelling! And the best part is, the flights are only costing me $708.33. HOW CHEAP IS THAT?!?! Ridiculously cheap, thats how. 

Seriously, the original flights we looked at were $842.52, and I was thinking 'Holy cow, that's so cheap!' and now we are saving $134.18.

AHH! And our hostels are $200 (roughly) a week (each), so I'll be spending just over $1100 on flights and accommodation! Words cannot describe how excited I am. I'm going to post a couple pictures so you understand how much I love them.

I just haven't written anything..

So hi.
I guess I just haven't written anything for a while, and I feel like I should. Happy belated Valentine's Day! It's one of my favourite 'holidays'. It's not a real holiday, as I have been told many times, by many people, and I'm okay with that. I think I mostly like it best because Jake and I are really good at it. We don't stress out, or feel a need to get each other extravagant gifts (although, this year, I got a bit spoiled...). Our Valentine's Day has always been us, at his house, ordering a pizza and watching TV and movies all night. It's mostly just a day for us to not feel bad about eating a bunch of junk food, and a reason for prezzies. Jake, if you are reading this, I hope you didn't stress out. Really, there was no need, and for next year, now you know. :)
Uhm, as well as that, I don't really think much is new.
I have been home now for longer than I was gone, according to Jake, which makes me really sad. I don't like thinking about that, I just want to travel all the time, everywhere. Which is why I'm super looking forward to studying abroad, and I'm super hoping that happens. I love Berlin.
I realized one of the best things about Berlin was that right outside the hostel we were staying at, there were the best donairs ever. I really miss that. They grilled up peppers, potatoes, zucchini's and stuff, and put all that in there. And although you might think 'hm, yeah I'm not too sure I'd be down with that,' I promise you would be. Flipping love travelling and eating great things all the time.

back in my day

You know when people start a sentence off with 'Back in my day...', and it's super annoying and you roll your eyes? You have to wonder how long this has been going on for. Because there has always been a 'back in my day'. Right now, everybody thinks that my generation (my generation is a very broad term, I don't even know if I am in the generation I am talking about), is the most selfish generation there is. 'Teenagers, nowadays,' and such on and so forth. But seriously, every generation is equally as selfish. All it takes is new technology or items to make someone selfish. But because I am in the age of technology, where almost everyone has a laptop/cellphone /iPod, we are selfish. No, these are not necessary products. But you know what else wasn't a necessary product when it first came out? Pre-made clothes. It used to be a big deal when people were able to go to a store and purchase clothes. Only the rich could afford it. And the rich girls and boys wouldn't really care about it, because they knew they'd be able to attain it.
Just as sewing machines, when they were first widely available. Everyone used to sew by hand. Sewing machines weren't necessary, and I can guarantee that quite a few rich people back in the day would complain when they're new machine broke on them.
Just because our generation has more new items than ever before, does not make us selfish. How could it? We are not the ones who are creating and inventing these new items, the new technology. We've adapted to living with this technology, just as people adapted to buying clothes, and sewing machines. No, they aren't necessary, and yes, there are other ways of doing things, but if things are constantly going to be invented, how are we to be held responsible for what we can and can't buy?
Women weren't able to or respected for working just 70 years ago, and now, at the age of 15, everyone is expected to have their own jobs. We are paying for what we get, most of us.
And for the spoiled children that everyone keeps complaining about, maybe you should start blaming your own generation on that one, as well. Because if their parents weren't teaching them it's okay to be spoiled, they wouldn't act like that. People aren't just spoiled brats for no reason, it's a learned thing. They learn it from their parents. Most teenagers have jobs and are able to afford cell phones, laptops, iPods, and the technologies we have adapted to loving. It doesn't mean we are selfish, it means we are accepting the times, just as generations before us have.
It doesn't mean we are spoiled, it means that a lot of us are working hard for the money to pay for them.
As for people getting these items as presents, yeah, I'm a little vague on how to defend that, but as I sit here, typing on my gift of a laptop, I'm not going to look too far into it.
Also, in case you were wondering, I do have an iPod. I have two. One I won in an electronic game, the other was given as a gift. My real iPod, the gift, recently broke. I haven't been completely hopeless without it, and I know, at this point, I cannot afford it.
Maybe people in other generations need to start looking at the positives, not the negatives, of the generations preceding them. And need to look at their own generations as spoiling the new ones.
Seriously, who gives a 12 year old a Blackberry?

i ♥ old people

So, I've noticed that all old people have the same weird things, and I just wanted to know where they got them!

I mean, so many old ladies have those plastic hood things? And they kind of look like those caps you streak your hair with? And they wear them all the time when they're walking around town! Seriously, where do they get them? Have you ever seen them being sold places? I haven't.

And those walker things that carry their items? Yeah, I haven't seen them being sold anywhere. And the fun ones where they can fold it into seats! Those are pretty cool, but I'd have no idea where to buy them. 

Oh, old people. They're cute. I like them, when they're nice and not crotchety. 

And that was my topic of the day.
