why don't you leave?

I'm really tired of hearing people complain about their hometowns. Most of them will be here for around a week, probably less, and they still feel the need to complain. Where do I start with the annoyances?
If your parents are making you come home for Christmas, then do just that. Come on the 23, spend the 24 and 25 with your family, then leave on the 26. Three days. You will probably stay in your pajamas at home the entire time anyways, the exact same thing you'd be doing in [Insert University/Big City Name Here].
If you are here for longer, make the most of it and see your friends. Nobody's asking you to go out clubbing while you're here for the holidays, nobody probably cares if you do. If you actually care, maybe you need to rethink what's important to you if you can't go one week without going to a club.
If you live here, and complain and hate it so much, why don't you leave? Myself and plenty of other people have gone travelling, so go do that. If it's about money, you can probably find a job ANYWHERE CLOSER TO VANCOUVER THAN HERE.
I mean, really, let's figure this one out. Okay, you want to move to Vancouver. You will need $200 for a plane ticket. $100-$150 for your parents to drive you (which is more likely, because your complaining shows a lack of money on your part, which means you spend it all on useless crap that you need to tote around). Then you'll need first and last months rent, so, realistically, around $1600. So, $1600 + $150 = $1750. If you get a full time (be real, you have nothing better to do) job at McDonalds, starting at $8.50 (that's probably training wage, now?), you can make that in a month and a half. And, seeing as you probably won't work at McDonalds, and will get an actual minimum wage of $9.75 down, that cuts down the time it will take to save the money. Most franchises/national chains will be able to transfer you to a place down there, and most small businesses will have connections, or look good on a resume for a similar position. So homies living here, you have nothing to complain about. Leave. Sick of your toxic attitude.
So, the long and short of it is this, people. This is where you grew up. Or at least where your family is. So for one week out of the frigging year, shut up and make the most of being back here. At least we have a ski hill.

put on your shades, cause i'll be dancing in the flames

Okay, seriously, people need to bugger on off about what I want to do with my life. I was sitting in math tutorial the other day, and this 30 year old chick was sitting beside me and asked why I was taking business. And I was like, "oh, I want to be a financial planner!" and she was like "really?" and I said "...yeah" and she starts telling me about how that's what she did and she just wrote the exam and they gave her a job at Investors Group. So, as she basically tells me it was a waste for me to go to college when I could just take some exam, she also tells me that it sucks telling people to invest their money when the economy is bad and blah blah blah. And it's like, okay girlfriend, a) I'm in my first year first semester of business. I may and probably will change my mind a few times. and b) I HAVE FOUR FREAKING YEARS UNTIL I GRADUATE, THE ECONOMY CHANGES. Seriously. Also, if you feel bad telling them to invest, then don't. Tell them how you can help them out in this economy.
Then I had some guy come into work today, and, while it is very fair to say he may have been crazy, he told me that getting into business was a bad idea because of the economy. Once again, homeboy, I'm in my first year at college. The economy has it's ups and downs. It changes. And quickly. But without people who took business in school, it would be much harder to get out of a down economy, aiight? So lay off me.
Also, the girl in my class who works with IG and didn't go to college for it, yeah...I'm doing better in all of the courses we have together. So, pt II, suck on it. Again.

Okay and on a completely separate topic (I may have a few of those in this blog, I'm Ranty McGee today) people suck at driving. Seriously, today I was almost at an intersection with green lights, and some guy was turning right from the red light side, and he had one of those little helpful right-hand turn barricades with a yield sign on it, and instead of turning right, he just pulled a U-turn into the complete opposite direction of the right turn. As if he didn't have the extra three minutes to wait at a red light to turn left, or to take a series of right hand turns if he made a mistake. Nope, a U-turn into oncoming traffic was definitely the best way to solve his problem. And you know what? I probably would be a lot more lenient if he was old or from Alberta. But nope. This douchebag was from BC and driving an ugly early 90's jacked up pickup.
Then, tonight I was driving home from Wendy's, and was on a dark road, and this guy was speeding at me with both of his lights off! IN THE DARK. AT NIGHT. Like, I'm pretty sure the one was burnt out, and the other just wasn't on full power, but still. Don't drive around when it's dark and raining if you don't have proper headlights.
And then, to top it all off, I was going through an intersection, and some chick was turning right at her red light, and instead of being all, Oh hey, I'll just creep forward a bit so you know I won't hit you, she like, sped towards the intersection, then slammed on her breaks as I drove past. I'm so surprised we didn't swipe it's insane. Who drives like that? It's dark and raining, there is no way in hell you didn't notice that big red light in front of you.

Also I'm pretty sure that the crazy guy at work started talking to me about how not enough babies were being born because there were more women working than making babies. I don't think he understands that overpopulation is a huge issue right now. And dude, just cause I want to work, doesn't mean I'm going baby free my whole life.

This was a good ranting session. I just needed to let it all (most of it) out. My journal will be hearing the rest.

Amelia Grace

I have a new baby cousin! She is so beautiful and I love her so much and feel so blessed to have her in my life! My aunt, Mary, was my age when I was born, and we've always been extremely close, and I pray that I can be as close with her as I am with Mary.
Anyways, she was also the first baby born in the new Polson Tower, and Mary was the first person in the operating room! Well, not the first person ever, but the first person to get operated on, that's for sure!
But yes, I have a new baby cousin whom I love and cherish forever and ever amen.

Congratulations, Mary and Martin.
You guys will make the great parents.  ♥

Someday.

I've realized that I have a dream. I wish it was as ambitious as Martin Luther King, Jr's. But, alas, not as much.
Anyways, my dream is purely selfish, no matter how pretentious I act once I have achieve said goal, it will not be beneficial to anyone except myself. I want to go to every continent. Just to be able to say I've been on every continent. I've got North America and Europe down! And when it comes to North America, it's not just because I live here. I've been to New York and San Francisco and Nicaragua (I guess it's central America, but that's not technically it's own continent. So I think it counts as North?) as well as some pretty cool cities in Canada (Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, technically I've been to Toronto (but I don't remember it)).
Anyways, I've also done western Europe. I do hope to expand this into all of Europe (not every country, per se, but all over the map of Europe). I want to travel through the Baltic's and all through to Turkey.
I want to spend a year travelling Australia, New Zealand, and southeast Asia. I would love to explore all through central/northern Asia, and would love to do something out of the ordinary with it, such as North Korea. Russia would be interesting, as well. I want to travel South America, too. And I can't wait to go through Africa. I want to do a safari, and see giraffes and elephants and zebras.
And, last, and in my books, least, I would like to travel Antarctica. I don't have an extreme urge to do so, and it isn't my first place I want to travel when I have the money, but I still think it'd be cool to say I've been to Antarctica. So, sometime in the future, I'd like to do that.

I really need to win the lottery.

it's funtastic.

Okay, seriously? It is Funtastic. Not Funtastics. It is not plural. It is a singular event. And, while it may last the span of several days, you do not say 'oh, on Thursday I am going to Funtastics.' and you know why? Because that doesn't make sense. At all. You cannot just add letters to words. If you could iajd couleda jeast sturtttat talkaicngg laek thsssis. And I won't talk like that. So stop calling it Funtastics. It's only one place, and one event. Stop. Please.

and it kinda looks just like you, mixed with zach galifianakis.

So I guess I gave up for that trip, sorry! San Francisco was beautiful weather, and we had a good time. I think a week in one place is just a bit too much for me, I wish we'd had a third city in there to break it up a bit. Oh well. I'm home now. And everything is the same. I turned  19 on Wednesday, which was fun. I went to a casino! I lost money, but it was still fun.
Really, nothing is happening, because I'm just working and not doing much. It's pretty boring.
This post is kind of depressing. I'm sorry.
