heyy all! so it has been a while, it seems, as we were in Normandy, in small towns, where there is little to no wifi available, and no internet cafe. but now that i am in BARCELONA, SPAIN!!!! there is an internet cafe that i have made very available to myself.
Bayeux was very very cool, we went to Juno Beach and the museum there, and we also went to one of the war cemetaries there! it was very emotional and cool, we found a George Sellars from Sheffield who we are assuming is related to Jake in some way, which is very exciting.
after bayeux, we were all, oh lets go to paris.
then we got on the train and looked at some of the hostel prices and decided...nah, lets go to spain.
so that is why we are here. the weather is sooo nice and sunny and hot and everyone is speaking spanish and its so great to relatively know a language and be able to speak it in common travellers conversation.
thanks, ge4!!! but seriously, it does kind of remind me of nica, except like...rich...
anyways, SPENCER PRICE.
just so you know, i had mcdonalds again.... dammit.
and MOM AND DAD.
send me spencers home phone??? thanks :) i miss you guys and hope your thanksgiving is super fun and love and such of the like.
STACEY LAMBERT i really miss you.
i miss your voice and your face and you being near me.
TAYLOR SMITH...i found a grave that was T. Smith. i took a picture of you beside it. they were canadian too...miss you.
and...last but not least, everyone else who is ´making nightly love to my blog´, thank you, i miss you and love you.
IM IN SPAIN AND ITS SUNNY AND HOT AND WARM AND I CAN WEAR SHORTS AND A TANK TOP AND FLIP FLOPS.
i kind of had to rub it in everyones faces, just because im so freaking excited.
ya ya ya
also, we took an overnight train from paris to barcelona, and in paris there were army guys with assault rifles just walking around.
and in train stations, seeing pigeons is excessively common.
i frigging hate birds, and they were getting so near to me.
ùhm, this morning, when we were getting in, we were right at the south of france, looking right into the mediterranean, with the sun this BRIGHT ORANGE colour, and it was so beautiful. i love sunrises. and yeah, it just made me feel really reassured and loved and im happy now :)
spanish keyboards are very different than canadian ones.
all my love,

MOMMY I FORGOT TO SAY.
ReplyDeletewe can now retrieve your voicemail!!
so feel free to leave them as you wish, i really hope you see this.
and tell anna that too, cause we didnt think we knew how, but it turns out, we do!
We checked with Dorothy and that grave of George Sellars is indeed family, he was Jim's uncle which would make him Jake's great, great uncle.(George would be the brother of Walter Sellars, who is Jake's great great grandfather for whom he was named for (middle name obviously). Love that you are in Barcelona. I have a friend from my school days who lives there. He sometimes still plays piano in lounges and stuff so if on the very slim chance you stumble across the name Luke Sandford playing piano somewhere you can check it out. But according to F book, i think he went to Prague but don't know for how long so scrap the whole idea lol. I'm sure Jake would love to listen to piano music (she says sarcastically)
ReplyDeleteI saw your mom in LD yesterday, she was pretty busy but we did get to chat a bit. Realistically we are not THAT worried about the terrorists threats over there, the odds are very very slim that anything will happen. Now that it's it the media, the element of surprise would be gone.
Anyway, have a great time in the sun! btw, I didn't realize you knew spanish, you're one up on Jake. Anna
Taylor I hope you enjoy enjoy enjoy the sunny weather in espana! you absolutely need to gou to park guell in barcelona and you NEED to go south to Valencia. you will love it in valencia. and stay at the Home Backpackers Hostel there. Tres amazing. Mucho Amazing. Okies... have fun. ps this is Hailey

ReplyDeletemaybe you can take in Paris later on your way back to Holland when you know how your finances are working out.
ReplyDeleteHola Amiga! Wow! The tone of your blog sounds MUCH happier now that you're in the sunshine! We love reading about your adventures, despite your strange desire to eat at McDonalds in every country. Not even Ronald McDonald does that. (Although Grimace might). Enjoy the sunshine! Don't forget the sunblock.
