Barcelona

Had a lovely three weeks in Barcelona- the perfect mixture of sightseeing and vacation on a beach! Absolutely loved the vividness of the city and am so thankful that's where I wound down from my exchange. I obviously have so many pictures from my trip but a lot are repetitive, so I picked the ones that I liked most! There are still more to come, but these are a general view of my favourites!

Can't wait to post more Barcelona pictures, and can't believe in two days I'll be home!

"We are torn between nostalgia for the familiar and an urge for the foreign and strange.
As often as not, we are homesick most for the places we have never known."

Lately

Can't believe in less than two weeks I'm leaving for Spain, and just under five weeks I'll be flying back to Canada. Time has absolutely flown by, I can't believe it's nearing the end. The weather we've been experiencing has been making this time much more enjoyable, as we're able to enjoy what the city has to offer everyday. This post has pictures from my birthday, and how I've been beating the heat in Vienna, and the beauty I've experienced in the past week.

I was blessed with great weather on my birthday, so we had a picnic brunch in the park!
We then went to Le Loft where we got a wine sampler...
A cheese sampler with bread...

And an absolutely stunning view of the city, with Stephansdom off in the distance!
The weather has been divine, so I went swimming along the Donau!
Along one of our night walks we got to experience a gorgeous sunset!
We also beat the heat by going to Krapfenwaldlbad- a swimming pool overlooking the city.
We had perfect weather and a perfect view- and a swimming pool!
We had Greek food at one of the restaurants lining the Donau
And got to experience this amazing sunset last night!

A megaphone with a bell carved with Catholic symbolism,
the masses staring up intently. Shortly after this was commissioned
someone spray painted 'never follow' on one of the peoples heads,
turning it from a painting of religious nature to an anti-authoritarian one.

If you get the chance, I would 100% recommend going to Krakow. It was absolutely gorgeous and completely took me by surprise. The great weather, amazing food and the lovely locals made this trip such an amazing experience.
